Shampoo Packaging in Three Styles

These are three designs for fictional shampoo packaging that are designed in three distinct styles: Victorian, Bauhaus, and Art Deco.

The Victorian Style emphasizes heavy ornamentation, detailed typefaces, and text on a curved baseline or banner. There is very little negative space in Victorian designs. I incorporated these elements into my design, as seen with the curved text, the ornamentation, and the non-square shape of the label.

The Bauhaus Style typically has text on a tilted axis, with simple or no ornamentation, consisting of geometric shapes, an asymmetrical layout, and a colour palette of red, white, and black. The basis of this style is form follows function. I kept the design fairly simple, only using geometric shapes to accent the text.

Art Deco focuses on geometric shapes, motion lines, and airbrushed effect in colouring, as well as portraying a feeling of luxury. I incorporated a geometric design with stepped shapes and sunburst type designs surrounding the text. I used a gold-yellow colour on a darker background to give a sense of luxury to the design.
